I love driving down Baldwin Avenue because I love its scenery.

One Sunday, it was so beautiful that I had to pull over and take these photos. I used my cell phone camera, so the qualities are not that good, but I think you can still see Maui's magnificent beauty...

ボルドウィンアベニューを降りていくのが好きです。景色がとてもいいから。

ある日曜日、それはそれはきれいだったもので、車を停めて写真を撮らずにはいられませんでした。携帯についているカメラで撮ったので、そんなに質は良くないですが、それでもマウイの美しさが少しでも伝わるはず。

Students gave me these flowers. They picked from the school garden. When children give me flowers, for a moment, they look like fairies.

教えている小学校のガーデンに生えていたお花を摘んで、二人の生徒がそれぞれにくれました。子どもがお花をくれるときって、子どもが一瞬妖精みたいに見えます。

My brother (not blood related, though)'s house has this plant growing from outside... Wow. His tenant doesn't use this door often (because it is an emergency door). I took a photo and sent him and asked, "What are you going to do about this?" (because he is not on the island), and he texted me back saying, "Cool!" Yeah, it is quite cool, but...

私の血の繋がっていない兄ちゃんてき存在の人の家の、あるドア。これは非常用のドアなので開け閉めが普段はない。その外の植物がドアの隙間から内側へ生えてきていました！写真を撮って送ってみると、（その人はマウイにいないので）「すごいね！」の一言。いや、すごいんですけど、それだけですか？

I made a big bowl of quinoa salad, so that it would last a couple of days. Teaching full time and doing other jobs here and there, trying to cook every night can be tiring, so I try to cook a big amount on weekends. When I made this salad, it was the Super Bowl day in the U.S., and I had no contact with it at all, but I thought to myself, "Well, this is my version of super bowl!!"

キンワ（日本ではキヌワと表示されているみたいだけど、英語の発音では「キンワ」の方が近い）のサラダを作りました。何日か持たせようと沢山作りました。教師の仕事と、他にもいくつか仕事をしているもので、なかなか料理をゆっくりする時間が取れません。なので週末に結構な量を作り置きしておくことが多い。

I love having a little being in my everyday life. This cute pair of Crocs are Syrus's (my dance teacher's son). He and his sister often come down to my house and visit. I like how his shoes are left next to mine.

小さい子が毎日の生活に存在していることで、心がほわっとすることがよくある。このかわいいクロックスのサンダルは、二階に住むサララ（私の踊りの先生）の息子サイラス（2歳）のもの。彼と彼のお姉ちゃん（７歳）はよく私の住んでいる一階に遊びに来る。気がついたら彼らの靴が私の靴の横にあるっていうそんな光景を嬉しく思う。

I used 5 pairs of pants in one weekend. How much perspiration I went through?? Lots... (the large pair is from India. I received it from Sarala, and it's so comfortable to wear and dance in it.)

１つの週末だけで５枚のダンスパンツを使った。どれだけ汗をかいたというのだろう。（大きなパンツはインドからのもので、サララ先生から譲り受けた。踊るのにとても履き心地がいい。ウエストは紐なので、履いてからきゅっと縛る。）

One day, I received a package from my parents in Japan.

日本の両親から小包が届きました。

Inside, lots of love was packed!!
