My friend as well as an older sister-like person Kazuko invited me to join a weekend trip to Hana in August.
I of course said yes.
I love going to Hana.
8月に友人であり、お姉さん的存在である和子さんが、「あかりちゃん、一緒に週末ハナに行かない？」と誘ってくださった。
勿論、「喜んで」と答えた。
ハナは大好きだから。
I like to take the southern route when I go to Hana.
ハナへ行くときは南回りで行くのが好き。
I thought that these price tags were quite artistic.
They could be framed just as they are.
とても芸術性の高い値札だと思った。
そのまま額に入れたいくらい。
I was mesmerized by the light that penetrated these green leaves at where we stayed.
泊まったところで見かけた緑の葉を透かす光に、魅了された。
There, I met Kazuko's friends: Daniela and her husband, Rudy.
I think that I can settle down with my life's lesson by now which is that a good friend brings good friends.
They were wonderful people, and I was glad that our paths have crossed.
そこで和子さんの友人と合流。ダニエラと旦那さんのルディー。
ここまで生きてきて、「良い友を通し、良い友に繋がる」という定義を肝に銘じても間違いは無いだろうと思えてきた。
彼らはステキな人たちだった。私たちの道が交差したことを感謝。
I thought that this was such a clever and beautiful idea - placing broken old ceramics into cement on the floor.
これは何て素晴らしいアイディアだろうと思った。割れた食器などを、床にセメントを流し込むときに敷き込むということ。
By being able to spend a day and half without any agenda at such a special place with abundant beauty and no phone reception, I could really feel how much my "battery" was being recharged.

携帯の繋がらない、こんなに美に溢れたところで、丸一日半、特に何をするでもなくぼーっと出来、それによってどれだけ自分が充電されるかということを改めて思った。和子さん、誘ってくださって、本当にありがとうございました。

We saw a Japanese friend who lives in Hana.
Her two sons were much bigger than I saw them the last time.
Children indeed grow fast.
It is a pleasure to hold their hands while they let me.
ハナにお住まいのある日本人のお友達にも会ってきた。
彼女の二人の息子たちは、前回会ったときよりもぐんと大きくなっていた。
子どもの成長は本当に早い。
いつだって、彼らの手を繋ぐことは喜びだ。まだ繋いでくれるうちにね。
