My Parents' Maui Visit - Day 4 両親のマウイ訪問４日目

4月23日の４日目には、マウイオーシャンセンターという水族館に行ってきました。両親が「子どもに水族館に連れて行ってもらうような齢になったんやなぁ。」と言っていたのが印象深かったです。小さいときに弟と連れて行ってもらった思い出が蘇ってきました。水族館好きだったなぁ。

この小さな水の箱の中で、私たち人間に
彼らの暮らし振りを見せてくれていることに感謝。

"Touch Pool"
My mom bravely touched it and jumped up and touched it again.
「触ってもいいプール」
お母さんは果敢に触り、触った途端に飛び上がり、
でもまた触っていました。

"Where are we?" My dad loves looking at maps. He finds out where he is and what is around him. I think I got this habit from him. My mom simply says, "Oh yeah?" and follows my dad. Cute.

「今どこにいるのかな？」 地図を見て自分のいる場所を確認し、 周りの地形を頭に入れるのが好きな父。 この癖は私もあり、きっと父を見ていて取り入れたものでしょう。 「ふーん」と分かったような（ふり？）の母（笑）。それもかわいい。

Then we were invited to a dinner by my Maui auntie, Kyoko-san. She's been a great auntie since the very beginning of my Maui life (over 10 years ago). She is powerful, never ceases to smile, says what she means, and faces her life straightly. There are lots to learn from her.

それから私がマウイに来た当初からずっとお世話になっている恭子さんにお招き頂き、夕飯をご馳走になってきました。とってもパワフルで、笑顔を絶やさず、伝えたいことはちゃんと言い、人生にいつも真っ正面から向き合っている恭子さんに学ぶことが多いです。

友人のちみちゃん、ジェフリー、房代と息子のケオラくんも来てくれました。

Our friends, Chimiko, Geoffrey, Fusayo, and her son Keola came, too.

It was a very fun evening.
