My Parents' Maui Visit - Day 3 両親のマウイ訪問３日目

In April, my parents came to Maui from Japan to attend my Odissi dance debut ceremony. They flew in a day before the ceremony and were able to stay for a week after the ceremony. 

I took days off from work to spend time with them. I had a great time with them and was very appreciative that they came all the way to support me and congratulate me.

I'll share some of our memories here.

The first day, they arrived about 4 pm at Kahului Airport and relaxed the evening at my house.

On the second day, because it was the day of my important ceremony, my friend Fusayo took my parents for a strawberry farm to entertain them while I was getting ready. Thank you, Fusayo.

So I'll begin from the third day which was April 23rd.

私のオディッシィダンスのデビューセレモニーに参加するために両親が、日本から遥々マウイに来てくれました。式の１日前にマウイ入りし、式の後１週間滞在することが出来ました。

私も仕事から休みをもらい、両親と一緒に過ごすことが出来ました。とても楽しい時間を過ごすことが出来、またわざわざ来てくれたことを、心から有り難く思いました。

両親と過ごした日々の思い出を紹介します。

１日目は午後４時にマウイに着いて、そのまま家に帰ってきてまったりしました。
２日目は私のデビューセレモニーの日だったので、私がそれに専念出来るよう、友人の房代ちゃんが両親をクラにあるイチゴ狩りに連れて行ってくれました。ありがとう！

ということで、３日目からの思い出です。４月23日のこと。

The day after my performance, there was an Earth Day event, so I took them there.

They always hold hands together, which is cute.

式の翌日には丁度アースデイ（地球の日）のイベントがあったので、そこへお連れしました。いつでも手を繋いでいて仲の良いこと。

Then I took them to Spreckelsville (near the airport) to introduce them to my wonderful friends, Biff Mithoefer and his lovely wife Amy Mithoefer. I showed them kite and wind surfers.

それから空港からすぐ近くのスプレックスビルに住むすてきな友人夫妻に紹介するため、行ってきました。ビフ・ミットホーファーさんと奥さんのエイミーさんです。カイトサーファーとウインドサーファー達もお見せしました。

And we borrowed their bicycles and cycled around the neighborhood. It was so much fun!

そしてビフさん達の自転車を借りて、近所を走り回りました。すっごく楽しかった。

Then we went to Paia Fish Market to have dinner.

そしてパイアのフィッシュマーケットで夕ご飯。

Three of us shared these dishes.
