In July, our friend Ravi (who was visiting Maui from Aso, Kyusyu, Japan) came up with a beautiful idea which was to make "No Nukes Live Aloha" with tropical flowers and take pictures to share with the world.
九州の阿蘇からマウイに来ていたラビちゃんが、７月に素敵な提案をしてくれました。「No Nukes Live Aloha」のメッセージをハワイのトロピカルフラワーで書いて写真を撮って、世界とシェアするというもの。
Everyone gathered quickly.
みんな、直ぐさま「いいね、いいね」と集まりました。
Japan is the only country that has experienced having two atomic bombs exploded above heads of common people. We know how terrible radiation is. Yet, we were the ones who created the third atomic catastrophe. Our grandparents' generation worked so hard to rebuild the country after the war. They did it for our generation. Is it okay to be so careless and risk our lives and country and disrespect their hard work? No, no way.
世界で唯一原子爆弾を一般市民の頭の上に落とされた国であるのに、放射能の残酷さをこれでもかというほど味わった国民なのに、その３度目の悲劇は自分たちで巻き起こしたものでした。私たちの祖父母の世代が戦後あれほど汗水流して、私たちを想って再建してくれた国、日本。無謀で無責任な計画で、彼らの汗と血をないがしろにしてよいのでしょうか。良い訳がありません。
