I would not be here today in this way without Suga Jazz Dance Studio.

Really.

It's not exaggerated. 

I met this studio when I was 16 years old.

During my struggling high school years (not due to academics but due to eating disorders), this dance studio gave me a place to breath and be who I was. 

This dance studio kindled my spirit and sent me to Maui.

This is their 30th anniversary - the same age as me.

Now they have studios in Hokkaido, Niigata, Tokyo, Chiba, Kochi, and Kyusyu (Sasebo).

For this show, dancers from all over Japan are coming to share a stage!

It was such an honor when Yuichiro Kunitomo, the current head person of this studio asked me if I could perform with them in this show. However, my visa status did not allow me to leave the country (I mean I could leave but then could not re-enter without a paper work I have been waiting), so I had to pass up this wonderful opportunity. I am deeply thankful for this studio's continued existence and the quality of work they are doing to brighten the world through their dance. They are kindling many spirits!

So, if you happen to live in Japan (especially in Shikoku), please, please go and watch this amazing show. 

I will be thinking of them on those dates and dancing with them in my spirit.

スガジャズダンススタジオ無しに、今の私はこのような形で存在していないだろう。

いや、本当に。

過言ではない。

16歳のときにこのスタジオと出会った。

苦しかった高校3年間（摂食障害のため）、行き場の無かった私に息の出来る場所を提供してくれたのが、このスタジオだった。そこではありのままの私でいられた。

私のスピリットに火を灯してくれ、そしてマウイに送り出してくれた。

今年が彼らの30周年。（私と同い年だ。）

今では、北海道、新潟、東京、千葉、高知、九州（佐世保）にスタジオを構え、全国で活躍されている。今回は、日本中から踊り子が集結するとのこと。素晴らしい！

スタジオの現、代表である國友悠一郎さんに共演を依頼されたときは、本当に心から嬉しく、光栄な思いでいっぱいだった。残念ながら、今回は私のビザの関係でアメリカ国内から出ることが出来ず（出られるんだけど、出たら入って来れなくなるので。今は新しいビザを待っているところ）断念。

彼らの益々の活躍振りには、本当に感謝、感謝。

踊りを通して世界に愛を広げてくれている。沢山の魂たちの火を灯しながら。

なので、日本に住んでいるお友達、特に四国に住んでいる方々、このまたとない機会に是非とも足を運んで頂けたらと思います。

日本の踊り子仲間のことをその二日、想っています。心の中で一緒に踊っています。
