It is a great fortune that I get to stay with Mavshi Bhavana in India. Mavshi means auntie in their language, Marathi.

She has a bright, open-minded, curious aptitude. She also has a child-like pure heart that I can observe in her actions and words. She is educated yet continues to seek information, knowledge, and wisdom by attending a college course on weekends (she is learning about environmental science). She is also a great cook! I get to eat her delicious meals 3 times a day!! Moreover, they are all vegetarian meals (because she is also a vegetarian)!

インドでは、マヴシィ・ブヴァナのお家に滞在させてもらっていることをとても有り難く思います。マヴシィとはマラティ語で「おばさん」と言う意味。

ブヴァナおばさんは、聡明で、偏見が無く、色々なことに興味を持っています。子どものような純粋な心も持ち合わせていて、それが彼女の言動のいたるところに見られます。教養があるにも関わらず、週末には地元の大学の講習を受けていたりと（環境科学のコース）、何歳になっても情報、知識、智慧を常に得ようとする姿勢には感心させられます。そして、とてもお料理上手なんです！彼女の作るおいしいご飯を一日に3回食べさせてもらっています！！しかも全部ベジタリアン（彼女もベジタリアンなので）。

Every morning, she gives me a pistachio and a walnut.
毎朝、くるみとピスタチオをくれる。

She said, "I will buy some sweets for you."
「あかりにお菓子を買ってあげましょう」と言って買ってくれてるところ。

In this house, there are Mavshi Bhavana, her granddaughter, and two paying guests. Saloni, the granddaughter is currently doing an internship to be a lawyer. Tithi is about to graduate from high school is studying very hard to prepare for an exam to go to a medical school to be a doctor. Shilpa is a year older than me, so she is like a big sister to everyone, and she works at a T.V. station. All the girls are so fun, kind, and are watching after me in many ways :) I am so grateful to be able to stay at this wonderful place with wonderful people. (Saloni usually goes to bed after I do, and she is so kind to check to see if I have a blanket on me. According to her, my arms and legs are everywhere when I sleep. I guess I am dancing in my dreams, too.)

この家にはブヴァナおばさん、彼女の孫娘、二人の下宿している女の子、計４人が一緒に暮らしている。孫娘のサロニは弁護士になるべくインターンシップ中。テティは高校卒業を間近にし、お医者さんになるための大学にいくために一生懸命試験勉強中。シィルパは私より一つ年上でみんなのお姉さん的存在。地元のテレビ局で働いている。3人ともとても楽しくて、優しくて、面倒見が良くて、私はこんな素敵なところに、素敵な人たちと滞在させてもらっていることを心から有り難く思っている。（サロニは大抵私より後に寝るのだけど、親切にもブランケットがちゃんと私にかかっているかチェックしてくれている。暗闇の中、何となく誰かがかけ直してくれているのを見たことがあるので、あれが彼女だったのだと思う。彼女曰く寝ているとき、私の腕と足は色んなところに行っているらしい。つまり寝相がすごいらしい。夢の中でも踊っているのでしょうかね。って小さい頃から寝相はすごいんですけど。）

In India, some people eat a toast with ketchup. I liked it.
And when I put it on, it happened to be a smiley face!
